About karla hicklin and her Society Philosophies...
Who is not, but should be newsworthy today?
Anyone who supports the proper rearing of today's children, and publicly condemns domestic abuse.
What current events or circumstances should receive more news coverage?
The proper rearing of children. Too many irresponsible parents neglect their essential obligations to raise healthy, responsible offspring.

Children can stumble onto horrific obstacles when parents are not involved. Low-self esteem, hanging with the wrong crowd, and yes, abuse in later years from their boyfriend or spouse can tragically encompass their life

Children are not born with innate knowledge that enables them to steer a positive course through life. They need the steady upbringing of responsible parents.

Domestic violence should always be an open discussion and in the public view. Too many women live in fear of their wretched abuser and this is an outrage.
Who is today's most absurd role model?
Anyone who promotes violence, or/and considers alcoholism a disease. We already have too many people blaming their problems on everything but themselves. My take on alcoholism...sad, but if this is a disease...why is cigarette smoking not a disease? It appears to be a "habit" just as much as alcohol consumption.

Some doctors claim the brain craves alcohol. Then can it be said that the brain also craves nicotine? I disagree with both. I firmly believe they are formed addictions and habits. We CHOOSE our path.
What cause do you believe in enough to take action?
Domestic Violence and stricter laws against drunk drivers.

Statistics prove that men who physically abuse their female counterparts often murder them. Women must face the facts. The relationship with their abuser will NEVER get better. It is not their fault that a peccant mate is mistreating them. Too many women shoulder the entire blame for their boyfriend or husbands' actions. This is so wrong!

Although extremely rare cases do emerge when a relationship strengthens and overcomes abuse, the abuser must be commited to ending the unnceccesary violence. He must be completely willing to accept responsiblity for his vile actions, or the project is doomed to fail. Therapy is a must!

DWI laws also need increasing scrutiny and tighter enforcement. Statistics show that if a person is ticketed for one DWI offense, they are likely to commit the same offense within ten years. Stricter laws, higher fines, imprisonment, coupled with counselling may be a worthy avenue to detour habitual offenders.
For what causes have you taken action in the past?
Highway Watch, designated to protecting citizens traveling the highways and byways.

Cruelty to animals

Violence against women

Breast Cancer

Stricter Stalker Laws

As the victim of a stalker, this cause is closest to my heart right now. Stalking is not romantic, although some people put this idealism into it. Stalking is against the law and should be reported to the authorities immediately. DO NOT let the stalker continue to threaten your life by tracking your every move. This can be extremely dangerous.
What is the best book you've read about bettering the world?
Poetry by Viggo Mortensen is uplifting.

I have just finished a book that deals with women's issues, such as domestic violence, self-esteem, divorces, widows, change of life, cheating husbands, etc "Disparate Women, Charlatans, and Conspiring Whores." www.karlahicklin.com

I have put more than ten years of research into this book, and believe I uncovered many dilemmas women face during their lifetime. I hope that anyone who reads this will walk away with a greater understanding.
