About Dave and his Society Philosophies...
Who is not, but should be newsworthy today?
All the good regular people (not famous) who do simple things that makes an impact on other people's lives, even if only one or two.
What current events or circumstances should receive more news coverage?
It seems today what is news worthy are just stories about crime and violence or the misfortune of others. There are events that happen everyday about the efforts of people to improve the lives of others or of good things that happen in this world. Reporting more of this might give people more hope and an understanding that there are good things in this world. But maybe that would not sell newspapers or make people watch the news at night.
Who is today's most absurd role model?
Rather than try and name specific names - All of the obvious celebrities that people put on pedestals and then wait for them to fall. The people that promote violence as a value to emulate and admire.
What cause do you believe in enough to take action?
Improving awareness and getting back to basic human values. Explanation - yes this is a generalization but an observation from travels around the world. It seems to me in western societies the kids now a days are spoiled and have a warped sense of values like the world owes them something or that they are entitled but do not want to work to earn. There is a growing lack of respect and value of what is important in life. Maybe it is too easy for them or the world has changed where they have too much of everything (information included) and there no limits or boundaries and this has created confusion as there are too many choices. In poor countries you observe kids trying to better themselves and make a better life but they retain respect for other human beings and an appreciation for what they have accomplished and wish to share with those less fortunate. The kids are the future of the world and the evolution of the value system. So for me the current evolution of 14 year olds shooting each other with no value on human life is really not heading in the right direction.
For what causes have you taken action in the past?
Drug rehabilitation for troubled teens
